Grant Thornton finalizes its acquisition of the French law firm Akilys, marking a significant step in the acceleration of its growth

Neuilly sur Seine, 12 May 2025_Grant Thornton is pleased to announce a significant strategic expansion as it integrates Akliys Avocats, a premier law firm based in the Lyon region. This move underscores Grant Thornton's commitment to enhancing its service offerings and cementing its position as a trusted advisor to mid-market companies and enterprises looking to grow.

By integrating Akilys' 33 employees, including 9 partners, Grant Thornton is enriching its platform of legal services and solutions dedicated to businesses. The newly combined team of 18 partners will now generate a turnover of around €20m, with a strong potential for development, particularly with mid-cap companies (ETIs) and growing SMEs.

This acquisition reinforces Grant Thornton's multidisciplinary model by strengthening its legal and tax expertise, as well as significantly strengthening its territorial coverage through the deployment of an enhanced legal offering at the heart of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (AURA) region and in all areas of business law: mergers & acquisitions / private equity, corporate law / governance, start-ups & venture capital, tax law, property law, regulated activities, intellectual property law, new technologies, employment law and HR engineering.
