Grant Thornton Société d'Avocats member of the Cercle Entreprises des Musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie

11 October 2023 - Grant Thornton Société d’Avocats, French partner firm of the Audit and Advisory group Grant Thornton becomes a member of the Corporate Circle of the Musées d'Orsay et de l’Orangerie for the 2023-2024 season.

The Law firm thereby joins the sponsors and partners of the two museums, the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie, and commits to giving its support in all the statutory missions of these two cultural institutions which have formed a single public body, the EPMO-VGE since 2010.

Grant Thornton Société d’Avocats will contribute to the prestige of these two museums which together reflect the spirit and influence of artistic creation in France from the second half of the 19th century and into the 1930s. This defining period saw the birth of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements which are represented more particularly in the collections of the Musée d’Orsay.

The Musée de l’Orangerie is home to both the Nymphéas (Water Lilies), Claude Monet’s last masterpiece which he bequeathed to France on the occasion of the 1918 Armistice, and to the Paul Guillaume and Domenica Walter Collection, one of the finest European collections of paintings from the period 1860 to 1930.

Be it Vincent Van Gogh, Amedeo Modigliani, Robert Ryman or the promised celebration of “150 Years of Impressionism”, the 2023-2024 season promises to be an exceptional one at the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie. In addition to this outstanding programme of temporary exhibitions, there will also be "Contrepoints Contemporains", featuring rich dialogues between today's leading artists and the masterpieces of nineteenth and twentieth century artists. Peter Doig, Wolfgang Laib and Nathanaëlle Herbelin will be among those honoured at the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie in the coming months.

Anne Frede, Managing Partner at Grant Thornton Société d’Avocats says: "Through our committed sponsorship of these two museums, we very much wanted to support a cultural institution with a recognised legacy and which embodies France’s influence in the arts around the world. We are therefore very honoured to join the Cercle Entreprises des Musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie".
